10DLC regulations, developed by U.S. wireless carriers, industry groups, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the Mobile Marketing Association (MMA), require all businesses sending text messages over long codes in the U.S. to register their brand, phone numbers, and messaging campaigns with The Campaign Registry (TCR). This helps carriers distinguish legitimate messages from spam, protecting your brand reputation and ensuring effective message delivery.Consequences of 10DLC Non-Compliance
Failing to register for 10DLC compliance can result in significant penalties, including surcharges and messaging disruptions. Starting in 2024, carriers may impose fines of up to $10,000 for unregistered A2P messages being sent via 10DLC numbers. Starting December 1, 2024, any A2P 10DLC message not registered with TCR will be blocked entirely.
